Argus title : Symbol of a need for care

A fortnight ago I wrote in this column about a man called Yannick, who died by heroin poisoning in Brighton. Yannick had a long history of mental illness, but also misused a cocktail of drugs. He would from time to time refuse prescribed anti-psychotic medication and self medicate with other substances. In May, following discharge from a local psychiatric hospital, he was placed in bed and breakfast accommodation and in November, following a final period of deterioration, he died. Continue reading
